Book Reviewers' Code of Conduct
Book Me: Book Reviews was born of my love for YA fiction, romance novels, urban fantasy/paranormal and regular fantasy novels. My focus for the blog is simple: honest reviews of books for women and books for teens. An occassional "boy book" may pop up (I should probably figure out what a boy book actually is), but mostly I'll review the types of books that take up the most space on my bookshelves.
Because I respect authors and take reviewing very seriously, I've come up with a code of conduct that I plan to follow on this blog.
- Allow the work to stand or fall on its own. Regardless of my opinion on the author. Regardless of where the book came from (See the blog disclaimer).
- If I have political or religious beliefs or personal tastes that may influence my judgment of a book, I'll cop to it in the review.
- Be respectful of the author. Some snark may sneak through, but in general I have no intention of being the next Mrs. Giggles (I'm not that funny!).
My book habit is expensive, and I do not profit from this blog financially. To help mitigate the costs, I'll be adding Amazon affiliate links for each of the books I review. If you're interested in buying one of the books, please use my link. That will enable me to add more reviews.
